Yuva is a work of fiction. The rest of the site (the "Yuva" company, its pages, its documents) is part of a narrative game. This page, however, is real: it tells you who runs the project and how your real data is handled. There is no company called "Yuva SAS"; the identities, addresses and numbers shown elsewhere on the site are invented for the fiction.

1. What this is

Yuva is an email-based investigation game (interactive fiction). You play a character and receive a story by email. The game is offered free of charge, with no commercial purpose.

The site and service are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare Workers), 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Data is stored in the Cloudflare D1 database.

4. Data we process

Depending on how you use the game:

  • Your email address (to send you a sign-in link and the story).
  • If you "apply" inside the game: the first name, last name, phone number and free text you enter in the form.
  • The messages you write inside the game (to your "colleagues" and to a character named Zoé).
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and a log of your in-game activity (pages opened, decisions), used to move the story forward and to fix bugs.

The phone number is not used to call or text you; it is an immersion element of the form. You may leave it blank or fictitious.

5. Why, and on what basis

This data is used only to run the game: to sign you in, deliver the story by email, adapt the narrative to your choices, and keep the service running. The legal basis is your consent, given by taking part. No data is sold, rented, or used for advertising or commercial profiling.

6. Processors

To operate, the game relies on:

  • Cloudflare (hosting and database);
  • Fastmail (sending and receiving the game's emails);
  • Mistral AI (Paris, France): the messages you write to the characters are sent to this AI service to generate their replies. Do not write sensitive personal information there.

7. Retention

Your data is kept for the duration of your participation, then deleted when the game ends, or sooner if you ask.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, and port your data. To exercise them, write to dpo@yuva.life saying so: a human reply will be sent within the legal one-month period. You may also, at any time, request the complete deletion of your account and data.

9. Cookies

The site uses no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. Only the necessary technical cookies are set: a session cookie (to keep you signed in) and a cookie remembering your language.

10. Complaints

If you believe your data is not handled properly, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL, www.cnil.fr.
